A Hoverboard-Powered Beach Chair Is Actually Kind of Brilliant

The patent-pending product, dubbed the HoverCart, is as simple as it looks. Take a beach chair, add some wheels on the back, put a frame underneath, and attach it to the center of the hoverboard for some foot-steered front-wheel drive. The HoverCart is on sale for 70, but you could probably figure out how to DIY your own pretty easily.

College student 3D prints his own braces

The digital design major has been straightening his top teeth for the past 16 weeks using clear braces he made himself.
"I'm still wearing the last one," Dudley told CNNMoney on Tuesday.
"The last one" refers to the twelfth and final straightening tray in his self-designed treatment.
Dudley said he had braces when he was in junior high, but he didn't wear his retainer as much as he should have, and his teeth shifted.
Over time, Dudley discovered that he wasn't smiling as much because he wasn't happy with the way his teeth looked.

Review: Plugging in with the MOS Pack charging backpack

The MOS Pack's cable sleeves and sets of snapping flaps help keep cables tidy

There's a growing number of bags that are designed to provide energy to devices while on the go. Many backpacks, such as the Poros Tetra, AMPL Labs Backpack, and TYLT Energi+, embed a USB battery to tap into. Successfully funded on Kickstarter, the MOS Pack charging backpack takes a slightly different approach by incorporating the company's power extension solution instead. We recently had the opportunity to check out what it's like to load up and plug in MOS's modern backpack.

Educational Technology and Copyright Law

In this article I have learned things that I never knew before. I had no idea that once you start writing or even hum a tune the work is immediately copyrighted. I also was unsure of the four rights that you have once you have copyrighted: 1) Reproduce the copyrighted work, 2) Display the copyrighted work publicly, 3) Prepare derivative work based on the copyrighted work, 4) Distribute copies of the copyrighted work to the public by sale, rental or lending, and/or to display the image. The last thing that I was informed about was that whenever you get an image off of the internet, yo should give the author credit.

                  Solar panel phone screens

People have been predicting that these will be A Big Deal for over a year . But as with many new technologies, several sets of researchers are currently working to make transparent solar panels better and cheaper, which means that next year could be the year consumers finally get hold of them. Once on the market, they could invisibly collect solar power on phone and computer screens, and even on windows.

Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

One class that I am very interested in, that I take this year, is World History. The teacher of that class is Ms. Garvin. In my opinion she is a very good teacher, and everyday I can't wait until I am in her class. In World History I learn man different tings everyday. We have taken about four chapter tests so far, and I have done great on all of them.
Her grading policy is fair. If you forget to do homework one day, you will not fail her class. Sometimes your grade does not even get lower. Tests are big in her class. If your average is about a 90 and you get and 80 on a test, your grade will lower to about an 86.
We have recently taken a class trip in her class. It was very fun and interesting. The trip was to a museum full of really famous paintings.
Sometimes we have to use the chrome books to write essays. Also, if I can't find information in the textbook, I have to look it up using the chrome books. The advice that I would give to students that have to take her class next year, is that her class is not really that hard, but be prepared to do a lot of work. I would also tell them, the better you are in her class, the more fun you will have.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yocja_N5s1I

Welcome Post

My name is Drew Packen, and I am in ninth grade. I really enjoy playing sports, such as: football and baseball. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends. I really hate getting grounded. I also hate failing tests, and losing football games. This summer I plan to play football, go to football camp, and hang out with my friends. I am not planning to get a part time job this summer.
